Programs We Support
All funds raised through the Toy Trot 5K go directly to two incredible local programs that make the holiday season brighter for hundreds of children in our community.
Shop With A Hero is a beloved Barrow County holiday tradition that pairs local first responders — deputies, police officers, and firefighters — with children from the community for a very special shopping experience.
- Local schools and guidance counselors identify students who could use extra encouragement or financial support during the holidays.
- Children are often treated to a blue-light parade in emergency vehicles before arriving at the store to pick out gifts for themselves and their families.
- Each child shops side-by-side with a local hero, creating lasting memories and meaningful connections in our community.

Hometown Heroes of Walton is a local non-profit dedicated to ensuring Walton County children have a Christmas to remember. In 2025, the organization was able to serve 500 children with holiday gifts.
- Hometown Heroes raises funds, coordinates volunteers, and organizes the entire shopping event so that every detail is covered.
- Each child shops at Walmart alongside a Hero and a dedicated volunteer, making the experience personal and meaningful.
- Volunteers help wrap presents, keep everything running smoothly, and ensure every child feels celebrated.
